Favourite food

For some reason I’m having many food cravings this weekend — chocolate, sushi, ice cream, chips n dip, tater tots, and on and on. Nope I’m not ‘pregers’ so erase that thought immediately, but all these are foods I haven’t eaten in ages. How can you multiply your happiness? Rejoice in the happiness of others, thrill to their achievements, feel enthralled by their new relationship, watch with joy as a smile lights up their face. Why stop at only your own happiness, partake of that of others and share yours with them. Make it multiply and multiply!

Envy and self-centeredness are the enemies of joy. Cast them away in the bin, set love in your heart and share in the joy!

Be present

As we navigate our fast-paced lives, we often lament that there aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish all our tasks. But what we really need to do is schedule moments of rest into our lives — Small pockets of time to simply let the mind disengage — to be in the moment.

Spend two minutes looking out the window; take a five minute walk for fresh air; or take ten minutes for a timed power nap.

Of course, this message is for me also, as I know fully well I belong in ‘workaholics anonymous’, but we can all take baby steps, right?
