The note

She wasn’t supposed to find that note.
She was doing his laundry as always.
Just trying to be a good girlfriend.
Cleaning, cooking, washing,
Just trying making him feel appreciated.

She thought he and that girl were just friends.
He always spoke of her so fondly, so casually.
Now she’s leaving him love notes?
Is there more to this?
Or is it just a silly thing that will go away?

She held the note.
She was frozen in her stance
For what seemed like an eternity.
Her whole world stood still. She felt sick.

She read that note at least ten times
Trying to find any possible hidden meanings.
There were too many questions in her head.
She felt weak.

Her heart felt like it was being squeezed
By both the hand which wrote that note
And by the one to whom she gave it freely.
She needed air. She needed to leave.
The note and his pants were left on the floor.

      1. Tell me about it. Time sure does fly. I have to go start back to school shopping. Yikes!!!

Glad for the warmth but 100 degrees the past few days is miserable. Looking forward to a break in weather this week.

Enjoy your outdoor time. Hugs 🌷

      1. Yes, I’m well. It’s been a mentally productive weekend. Love when I have these bursts of creativity. ☺
        Have a great week.!!!
