Pebbles In My Shoes by Joel F

Hello lovely people!
Hope you’ve all had a great week. ☺

Have you ever wondered if the path you’re on is the road you’re meant to truly travel? Sometimes the journey can seem so long and daunting. Detours take us to places we never would have chosen to walk, but the journey in and of itself, teaches us lessons we wouldn’t have learned otherwise.

The experiences are ours and ours alone. No one can take them away from us. No one can add or take away from our story, for it is ours, unique and precious. The life you live is your masterpiece — your artwork left behind for others to admire if they truly care to know you.

Say hello to Joel, one of our loyal followers and a participant in my last ‘Personality Quiz‘. Thanks Joel for stopping by my Quiz, the spotlight now shines on you!

Folks, Joel’s post below speaks of his personal journey and his original artwork always adds pizazz to his posts. Hop on over to Joel’s place and show some love. Enjoy! 🌷

Joys of Joel

Then it showed me the way with flickering lights and buzzing bumble sound.  Not leaving through the main hallway but through the backdoor leading to some alleys.

My walk being halted by  pebbles in my shoes, picking up the pieces and throwing those pebbles away.  To my surprise a car slowed down, a stranger inviting me for a ride.

With gratitude i declined and noticed the damaged window shield.  How those tiny rocks so quickly cracked the stranger’s car was beyond me.

And if circumstances are seeking its revenge by slowly enticing me to ride, then surely blowing its horn is not a welcome sight.

The  irony of courtesy and ambivalence courting dangers and respect.  Now, where else would i go when i took off my shoes so there won’t be  any pebbles to halt my motion?

But  pebbles still seep into my sole now that i’m barefooted.  Damn if…

Does honor still exist?

I get teary-eyed whenever I hear this song because I’ve never had anyone fight for my honor. Been taken for granted too many times to count, and each time it happens I vow to be more independent with less expectations (or none at all). For the most part that works well as it helps me avoid heartbreak, but as I get older I find that independence, though great, can be quite lonely.

I don’t know how to love with half my heart. Perhaps my love is too much for just one person. Perhaps my purpose is to show as much love as I can to as many that need it. That’s easy, really, it’s who I am, but at the end of the day the question still remains, will there ever be anyone to give me the love I need? I give of myself and it is taken but not reciprocated. Perhaps being alone is my destiny…

I hope the following song has a different meaning for you — Ladies, I hope you’ve found your hero willing to fight for your honor. Guys,  I hope you have a special lady who is worth the fight. Enjoy 🌷

Your love…

Your love is like
a thick blanket
on a cold winter’s night —
comforting, safe, warm —
keeps me wanting more.

Your love is like
a cool breeze on a warm summer day —
refreshing, cooling, amazing —
you’re the one I adore.

Your love is like
the fresh blooms of spring —
fragrant, captivating, intoxicating —
leaves me weak in the knees.

Your love is like the beautiful colors of fall —
radiant, delightful, crisp —
keeps me on my toes.

Your love is like the seasons of time —
with you I’m no longer dead inside —
you make me come alive —
thankful just to have you in my life.

Who Am I? A Life Or A Matter In It?

This is something I crave from others
because this is what I give
to all around me every single day.
So, when I come across people
who aren’t afraid to bear their souls,
I pause, I take notice, I relate, I connect.

If you’re like me, the following post
by ‘The Hedonist’, one of our loyal followers,
will totally resonate within you,
confirming that you are not alone in your quest for “realness’.
Have a read and see if you agree.
Enjoy! 🌷

An Obvious Oblivion Blog

I observe things. The people, places, situations, nights and the words. I observe. I deduct. I react. I do my own judgement. I observe the way a person folds his arms, way his eyebrows bend or the lips twitch. The way a person puts on his shirt, folds the sleeves. The way a person retains the Universe, the stars and the constellation in his eyes.

I read. I learn things from them. A person whom you have casually met for the first time and he holds the door open for you. I learn the kindness and courtesy from them.

A person you are interacting with, for the first time, opens up and tells you every dark and bright tales of their life. I learn honesty and trust at first sight from them.

A person who keeps calm when I am over-reacting. I learn from them the value of a relationship.

Small gestures: They…
