Take me over the edge…

“Middle Of Your Heart”
by for KING & COUNTRY

Lyrics

This is where it begins
This is where all the worry ends
This is where I say I don’t need to have control

This is where I admit
I don’t know how to handle it
Life in all of this chaos
You’re my only hope
And all that I have to offer
Is the white flag of surrender

So take me to the middle of Your heart
Lead me to wherever Your love starts
To a new day dawning
To the place You are
And if You want to take me over the edge
I’ll let you cause Your love is where I’ll land
Wanna be right where You are,
In the middle of Your heart

This is what I believe
That if I give you my everything
I will become who I was really born to be

I’ll stand up and say it
Yeah, Your love is something I can put my faith in

So take me to the middle of Your heart
Lead me to wherever Your love starts
To a new day dawning
To the place You are
And if You wanna take me over the edge
I’ll let you cause Your love is where I’ll land
Wanna be right where You are,
In the middle of Your heart

What I carry
What I carry
But now I can let it go
Yeah I carry it
Lord I carry it
But now I can let it go
Yeah I can let it go

So take me to the middle of Your heart
Lead me to wherever Your love starts
To a new day dawning
To the place You are
And if You wanna take me over the edge
I’ll let you cause Your love is where I’ll land
Wanna be right where You are,
In the middle of Your heart

The middle of Your heart

Don’t leave me alone

Through the tears,
through the pain comes a new day
Blown away still amazed
You pursue me
Ain’t no limit to the way You love
Don’t stop
Lord I need You like a heartbeat
Concrete
Rock solid under my feet
And You’re callin’ me, You’re callin’ me up

Life lessons from insects

If you fly aimlessly,
crashing not landing gracefully,
burning yourself on the fire
to which you were drawn,
then perhaps you don’t belong here!

But if you’ve been
washed down the drain,
shewed away,
have had things thrown at you,
have lost limbs in your grand escape,
and you are still alive,
then perhaps you do belong here after all!

Respect to you fearless insect hero.
Your boldness has brought
much inspiration to me today.
You survived  my attempts at making you leave,
and now I leave you be —
Be free!

I too once thought I didn’t belong here —
my less than graceful attempts
to land on my feet —
the many times I’ve been
knocked down by others —
the many times I felt
like I’ve reached the end of my existence.

But even with broken spirit
I pressed on, escaped,
survived, and have learned
it’s not how graceful I am when landing
but that I DO land on my feet
is what REALLY MATTERS.

Thank you for this life lesson my insect friend ^_^

Fly, my sweet bird, fly!

image

Fly,  my sweet bird, fly!
Let your wings take you to heights unknown.
Let your adventures be memorable.
Let your eyes see the beauty still present in the world.

And when your wings need a rest,
Fly back to me,  straight into my open arms,
For you will always be safe here
Until you are ready to built your own nest elsewhere.

Tell me of all your adventures,
Of all your hopes and dreams.
And when you’re done and rested
Fly,  my sweet bird,  fly!

Dedicated to my sweet munchkin.
I saw you running at the playground yesterday,  your legs, longer now,  transport you so much faster than the baby steps you once sported. You dashed across the playground as I sat and watched you play. You were my little bird,  flying in the wind — and what a windy day that was!  How much and fast you’ve grown,  how much you’ve thrived,  how blessed I am to see you become the beautiful bird that you are — my sweet bird,  flying, as with the time that has flown so fast these three and a half years. You played endlessly, then returned to me intermittently to rest and share a few hugs, then off you went like a bird flying to your next adventure. Precious moments to remember forever… Fly, my sweet bird,  fly!

A Pair 🃏

Describe a good friend in three words?

My answer:
1. Authentic
2. Understanding
3. Reciprocates

For me, the quality of friends has always been more important than the quantity. I’ve long given up on Facebook since the term ‘friend’ just doesn’t seem to apply. The context for that word just seems ‘off’ in the social media world.

And even if I love it here on wordpress, how well do we really ‘know’ someone from a few posts. Unless there’s communication outside the blog, is this platform enough to determine if someone is a true friend?

There’s so much more to how we choose friends. In many instances we choose the people in whom we can confide when our family members are less than supportive. Our friends fill a specific void, adding richness to our lives in ways we never imagined. Our friends become our extended families and sometimes are closer to us than some of our family members. So how do you define friendship?

Say hello to Jokerswild, the winner of my recent Food Quiz. He’s a new follower to our blog and now the spotlight shines on him! ☺

In his post below, he speaks of the very subjective topic of ‘friendship’. What does friendship mean to you? Read his thought-provoking post… It will certainly inspire you to inspect your current relationships. Enjoy🌷

BRAIN FREEZE

Friends is a word we use everyday.

Most of the time we use it in the wrong way

Now you can look the word up, again and again

But the dictionary doesn’t know the meaning of friends.

And if you ask me, you know, I couldn’t be much help

Because a friend is somebody you judge for yourself.

Some are okay, and they treat you real cool

But some mistake kindness for bein’ a fool.

*A little excerpt from Whodini*

What’s a friend, how long does it take to get one and how do you know when you caught a keeper.  I’ve got friends that I’ve known through winter, spring and fall.  Then I have some I wish I never knew at all but what seals your deal on a friend?

Sometimes, I don’t think friendship has to do with childhood, length of time or helping one in a bind…

Happy Birthday Munchkin!!!

Today, five years ago,
You came into my world.
I watched you thrive
Despite our rocky circumstances.
Many days it seemed as if
You grew overnight
As if by magic.

How sweet and beautiful you are
My darling little princess.
Some days you morph into
My monster-princess too,
But I guess
We all have those moments.

I did all I could
(and I’m still trying)
To give you what I never had.
You’ve been my world,
You’ve been my reason
To keep pressing forward.

You changed my life in ways
I never imagined were possible.
You gave me one last chance
To be the parent
I always wanted to be.
You gave me hope.

There was a void in my soul
You helped to fill,
But nothing will bring back
Years that were lost —
Years I was not able
To be a mom to your brothers.
All we can do is move forward
Making memories of our own.

Happy birthday my sweet munchkin
You are my joy,
You are a precious gift from heaven.
May you be blessed
With many more birthdays to come
I love you.
Happy 5th Birthday! 🎂

(My) Sleeping Beauty

Source: Yahoo images (www.blackcelebkids.com)
Source: Yahoo images (www.blackcelebkids.com)

I held you in my arms today
Waiting for you to wake up.
It’s been a while since I held you like this —
Watching you sleep,
Marveling at how much you’ve grown,
Thankful to be given such a gift.

Being with you like this is rare these days
Since you no longer stay still.
There’s so much you MUST explore
So much you MUST show me
Some much you MUST ask me
The only thing that silences you is sleep.

It’s amazing how it transforms you
From chaos to calm
So I can see my sweet angel,
My little princess, My treasure
Not the beast you pretend to be.

I’m sorry I’m always busy in your presence
I fear that you are learning
to not be still from me.
Even before you were born
I carried you with me —
Constantly moving,
constantly working, constantly busy;
In many respects you are me.

I am an army of one,
Never relied on anyone else
To do for me
What I could do for myself.

I see these traits in you now,
even at three
And though your independence
makes me proud
I fear it will have you
following in my footsteps —
Not needing anyone —
not wanting anyone!

But that’s a lie!
I do need people
To inspire, to encourage
To listen, to care
And what’s more,
I’ve always wanted you!

BUT my introverted nature,
Can only tolerate
external stimulation for so long
Before I must flee to my inner cave
For solace, for silence, for peace.
It is from that place I gain strength
To face the madness again.

It is my desperate need for silence
That makes me misunderstood.
My actions are not meant to hurt
Or cause offense.
My efforts to shut out the world
Are only so I can enjoy it on my terms.

So sleep my little one
As I cherish this moment
For in a few short minutes
You will be awake
Causing chaos as usual,
And in a few short years
You will be grown and gone
And this will only be a memory.
