The Parenting Formula

Trying to buy
a pair of pants for myself

A tired child
who wouldn’t stop whining

Being exhausted
from a hard day at work

Having no patience
to reason with whining kid

Leaving the store
With an outfit for my kid instead.
Wondering if said kid
would remember this event in future
when she whines,
“I never get what I want!!!! ”

  1. I remember those days! I always thought I was going to end up with the best-dressed kid in the world, being followed around by the dowdiest mother in the world, because it was impossible to buy anything for myself!
