Music is Oxygen, Short Stories

He’s not finished with me yet…

What is my purpose on this earth?
I’ve been struggling with this question for many years, and even more over the last 3 and a half yrs. I’ve taken to studying God’s word daily in an effort to better understand His teachings and instructions but I am still unsure what His plans are for my life.

This morning my daily devotional text message was from Romans chapter 8 and it read as follows:

Romans: 8.
28. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
30. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
38. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Bible Offline

Though I’m still studying the book of Numbers, seeing this passage from Romans has given me a bit of hope especially as it comes in the beginning of a brand new year! Perhaps it was meant to remind me that I need to keep working on my faith for at times it may be weak. Perhaps it was meant to remind me that even if I don’t know what God has planned for me, unlike when He promised the children of Israel the ‘Land of Milk and Honey’, I still need to believe that whatever it is it will be something good — something beyond my wildest dreams.

So today I feel blessed to be reminded that God is up to ‘something’ and all I have to do is trust Him and wait for His wonderful surprise.

My year seems off to a wonderful start and I pray that yours is too.

Best wishes to you all…

  1. The torah says we must thank the creator for the bad as well as the good.
    Why is this??
    The answer is as so:
The torah says “evil doesn’t decent from above.”
But how is this so, we do see and feel evil/negativity…what do you mean by “evil doesn’t decend from above?”
    It’s like this…
Every blessing which comes down to us must manifest itself in certain “garments”, via which we receive these blessings.
Sometimes, the blessings are so powerful/potent that they can’t manifest themselves in garments for us to receive.
We therefore perceive them to be “bad”, because we aren’t refined enough to receive them for what they are.
The Torah says that even the way the wind blows the smallest leaf is guided by divine providence, all the more so the events which take place in our lives, whether they are good or “bad.”

    1. I completely agree. Everything happens for a reason!

Thank for sharing your thoughts. I sincerely appreciate the time you’ve taken to leave such a wonderful comment.

May you be blessed today and always. Have a great day ☺

    1. Hi,
It’s wonderful to know you appreciate my work. I’m flattered! Thank you for the kind compliment.

I’ve been writing since my teenage years. I’ve always kept diaries as most teenaged girls do. But those journal entries grew longer and longer and pretty soon diaries could not hold the many words my heart/mind wanted to say. Then, as English was my favorite subject, essay assignments got much recognition by my teachers, which sparked my love of writing short stories and poems.

Writing has always been the way for me
to convey my feelings accurately since I often could not do so verbally as I was pretty shy…the words just never came out right.

Should I or anyone compare my work between then and now, one would see a vast improvement especially over the last year with my exposure to the WordPress platform. The feedback one gets in the form of comments or background data wordpress collects to help writers track their progress is immeasurable, so that has certainly helped me fine tune my writing process. Also, being exposed to so many other writers far better than I, has also inspired me to try harder.

I love the process of doing something I love and seeing the rewards of my efforts almost instantaneously. Now if I can convert this into a career then that would be awesome!

But hey, that’s the long-winded answer. Short answer is no, I haven’t always written this well, and I’ve been writing half my life, roughly 20 yrs. Wow, that’s a long time, huh? 😀

  2. Love this post and the topic that many of us as believers struggle with. Our lives, future and destiny are all in his hands. I truly believe you are already walking in part of your purpose! You are ministering through your writings. That’s so powerful!! So many find it hard to express themselves this way, but look at you! Glad I stumbled across your page. You just gained another follower in me😀

  3. Very well written.
Have you heard ‘He’s still working on me,
To make me what I ought to be…’ ?
I used to sing it in the school choir and remember the song only 😉😂

    1. No I can’t recall that song, I’ll have to look it up. Nevertheless, I appreciate your kind compliment. Thanks for reading. Best wishes for a wonderful weekend 🌷 ☺
