Was it all for nothing?

Feels like she’s spent
her whole life waiting.

Waiting to be noticed
for all the right reasons.

Waiting to be loved
by someone true.

Waiting for an end
to her struggles.

Just waiting.

Did he even notice
she’s waiting for him
to show his heart?

Was all of her waiting
for nothing?

Sweet moments

She wears a ring
But it’s not on her wedding finger
There are words inscribed
That he cannot read
So he asks to take a closer look
But it’s just an excuse
To hold her hand

The Phone Call

She summoned the strength
To fix the ugly mess
She saw in the mirror,
But what really needed fixing
Was her wounded heart!

Her phone rang…

Baby where are you?
Please come home?
We can fix this, I promise!
It’s all a huge misunderstanding!!!
Can we just talk this out like always?

I’m at a hotel.
I couldn’t breathe, Jack.
Finding that note damn near killed me!
How could you do this to me?
How could you do this to us?

I’m sorry, Mary,
I was just being playful.
I really didn’t mean anything by it.
I joke around with everyone at the office.
You know how I am!

Yes, I know you’re playful,
It’s one of the things I love about you,
But there has to be something
That made her think
There was more to your playfulness.

Honestly Mary, I don’t know!
I’m the same way with her
As I am with everyone.
I honestly don’t know
What made her think there was more!

Jack, please don’t play me for a fool?
Don’t play the dumb card with me.
You should know by now
I see right through that kind of crap!
I’ve dated enough sleezy guys to know.
I thought you were different!

Mary, please, I’m not lying.
Nothing happened!

Just answer me one question,
Are you attracted to her?
A woman can tell
By simple actions
If a guy is into her.

Long pause…

Well she is attractive…

You took way too long
To answer my question, Jack.
I’m starting to think
You’re not as innocent
As you’d like me to believe.

My afternoon into evening…

We often lament that no one would find us interesting, that the mundane experiences of our lives, are just that, and nothing more. But I beg to differ!

Sometimes the simplest of things which we take for granted, are by far the things that hold the most meaning.

Say hello to “M”. She is one of our loyal followers and the following post speaks of brief encounters throughout the course of her day which evoked a plethora of emotions from me. It clearly goes to show that life, though seemingly ordinary, can have great significance to others around us. Have a read and see if you agree. Enjoy! 🌷

Poetry of M

Part 1

I knew before I arrived I would run into him. Funny that I should think that as I was getting ready to leave home for work… Such a silly thought considering    I almost never see him, yet today I felt I would. My intuition seems to be heightened lately… Not sure why but I sometimes its unexplainable. I walked into work and there he was sitting at the computer desk. (What woman wouldn’t notice him though; perhaps one that is no longer alive between her thighs 😳). My co worker smiled, said she and he were waiting for me to arrive. They wanted to asked how I did something. I giggled being that he is the IT guy…he just fixes complicated things though. I showed him and we laughed at the simplicity of it.  He almost had it figured out but was grateful I showed him the rest of…
