The New Culture Of Pretense

Beauty Unfolds 11 – Click on image for details

Authenticity is so important to one’s well being, but seemingly it’s absent a majority of the time in this new culture of pretense.

Sadly, bait and switch has become the norm rather than the exception. It’s alarming that those who practice this behavior see no harm in deceiving others to fuel their own progress! Thankfully, in the end, there is such a thing called Karma. No bad deed goes unpunished and no good deed goes unrewarded!

Be your authentic self and let others love you for who you are — the real you! In similar fashion, practice acceptance of others. No two people were created the same. Through our differences do we learn to foster tolerance, growth and belief in powers greater than ourselves.

If a person’s actions conflict with their words, chances are authenticity has been compromised. Habits, good or bad, are hard to break! Conclusion, I’d bet my money on actions any day – – for they speak louder than words! Don’t be deceived by schmoozers. Let time reveal a person’s true identity.   Respect others as you too wish to be respected. Show appreciation often. Criticize constructively. Find joy in simple things. May peace and happiness be with you now and always as you journey towards being your authentic self!

Who knew getting dirty could feel so good?

“I was a kid. There was dirt. We met and fell in love. The end”

Haha, I love that line!
Falling in love is a beautiful thing – – even if it is with dirt! Loving and appreciating nature and knowing it so intimately is, in my opinion, the way our Creator intended for us to be one with the gifts He so meticulously designed for us to cherish, care for and ultimately enjoy!

Have a great day in the dirt as we welcome Spring ^_^

GET DIRTY

I’m going to be dirty today.

As a kid, Mama often met me on the back stoop as I came in from playing outside. With a broom in her hand she’d have me slowly turn in a circle while she brushed dirt from my blue jeans. She wasn’t against sweeping my bare legs either if I happened to be wearing shorts.

“Don’t bring that mess in this house.” She’d say. “Did you plan to get dirty?”

Well no. I hadn’t planned to. I was a kid. There was dirt. We met and fell in love. The end.

I remembered that this morning as I thought about where to plant some things in the yard. I still love dirt. Not potting soil in shiny garden-center bags. I don’t care for the sterile smell of plastic and perlite. I love real dirt. Earth.

One of the finest smells of spring is that first whiff of good clean soil. Sealed in by…

Life cycles

Life is cyclical…
Things come then they go.
Such is the case with
Fads, Friends, Money, Love,
Power, Youth, Seasons
And even Life itself!
Patience, courage and hope/faith
Are the tools needed
To see us through
To the next phase/cycle.
There is no need to fight it,
Just embrace the change
And press on…

Mind vs body…

Source: pinterest.com
Source: pinterest.com

The mind is a powerful tool,
Capable of convincing the body
To do great things when in our youth.
But as age takes hold, the body rebels,
And the mind knows not to argue,
For it too has become wise with age.
It must now serve a new ‘purpose’ – –
Provide comfort, reassurance, solace
To its companion, the body,
For it knows all too well
How lonely life can be without it.
